Presentation by Geothermal School Students; 2022 Geothermal School was finished

The Geothermal School students made presentations on November 24th at Tohoku University. For the event, Dean Edgar Armando Peña Figueroa from University of El Salvador, the President of LaGeo, Mr. Mynor José Gil Arevalo, and the General Manager of LaGeo, Marlene Jamilet Elias de Quan came to Japan as the representatives of SATREPS project members in El Salvador. And we also invited the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of El Salvador, Mr. Diego Alejandro Dalton Rosales, and Counsellor, Ms. Angélica Elizabeth Castillo Monge, as the special guests.

The school students made presentations about each research theme they conducted during their stay in Japan. The topics were “Application of Thermoluminescence in feldspars from the geothermal area”, “Application of Thermoluminescence for geothermal exploration”, “The characterization of Hydrothermal Manifestations in the geothermal field”, “Evaluation of high permeability zone in the geothermal field”, and “Evolution of sulfide scaling potential in production wells”. 

Ambassador and the participants from El Salvador expressed the importance and expectation for continuous relationships and capacity development between Japan and El Salvador.  Through this event, many participants actively interacted.
